Amazon Launches Major Fire TV Interface Redesign in the US
Amazon has officially begun the rollout of a comprehensive redesign for its Fire TV interface, marking the platform’s most significant visual and functional overhaul in years. Currently reaching users in the United States, the update shifts the focus toward content discovery to address the complexities of navigating an increasingly fragmented streaming landscape.

A More Intuitive Visual Experience
First previewed at CES in January, the updated interface replaces cluttered layouts with a more refined design language. Key aesthetic changes include:
- Rounded corners and consistent typography.
- Enhanced spacing between content tiles.
- Varied gradients for a modern look.
- Expanded capacity for pinned apps, increasing from 6 to 20 slots.
The navigation structure has also been simplified. A top-level bar now hosts clear categories such as Movies, TV, Live TV, Sports, and News, while the search function is conveniently positioned to the left of the Home tab. Secondary features, such as the Appstore, Games, and “My Stuff” watchlist, are now tucked away in a “hamburger” menu on the left side of the screen.

AI Integration with Alexa+
A major addition to the interface is the integration of Alexa+, Amazon’s AI-powered assistant. Users can now engage in natural language conversations that extend beyond simple content search. The AI is capable of answering general knowledge questions, providing more information about selected movies, or even finding recommendations based on stylistic preferences—users can simply ask to find “more movies that have the same look.”
Alexa+ is included as a perk for Prime subscribers, though other users can purchase separate access.

Device Availability
The update is currently launching on the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), and the Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series. Amazon plans to expand the rollout this spring to a broader range of hardware, including:
- Latest-generation Fire TV 4K streaming players.
- Fire TV 2-Series, 4-Series, and Omni QLED Series televisions.
- Partner devices from Hisense, Insignia, Panasonic, and TCL.
- The new Amazon Ember Artline series.
