Acti Launches AI Keyboard With Agentic Capabilities
Singapore-based startup Acti has officially entered the mobile market with an agentic keyboard designed for iOS and Android. Unlike traditional keyboards that strictly focus on text prediction, this tool leverages artificial intelligence to execute complex tasks directly within messaging, email, and social media interfaces.

Bridging the App Gap
Young Wang, CEO and founder of Acti, developed the tool to address the friction caused by fragmented user context. Current AI models often force users to exit their primary application to consult a separate chatbot. Acti aims to function as a persistent layer across the operating system.
“Today’s AI agents are fundamentally limited because user context stays fragmented across separate apps,” Wang explained. “Acti sits across all of them, which is why we can build a context layer that genuinely belongs to the user instead of the platform.”

Technical Foundation and Features
The keyboard is powered by Google’s Gemini models, selected for their speed and multilingual capabilities. A core component of the app is its “Skills” system, which allows users to automate multi-step processes via simple commands. Examples include:
- Retrieving real-time stock prices during a chat.
- Providing local restaurant recommendations without leaving the conversation.
- Triggering automated tasks like message translation or meeting link generation.

Users can create these Skills using plain language, with no coding knowledge required. Early testers reportedly built over 1,000 unique Skills in less than two weeks. These can be kept private or shared via a public marketplace, which the company views as a future monetization channel.
Privacy and Funding
To address security concerns, Acti operates on a local-first model. The company states that it does not access or store personal messages or private context by default, reserving external processing only for explicit user-invoked features.

The company also confirmed it has secured $5.3 million in seed funding, led by BITKRAFT Ventures. Jonathan Huang, a partner at the firm, stated: “We backed Acti because this team has a real shot at owning the next phase of human-computer interaction.” The founding team includes industry veterans from Baidu and HashKey Capital.
