Twitch Updates Partner Plus Program With New Point System

Creators, Revenue Share
CONTEUDO:

Twitch is adjusting the qualification criteria for its Partner Plus program, aiming to help streamers reach the 70/30 revenue split more efficiently. Starting October 1, the platform will implement a point-based system that weighs higher-tier subscriptions more heavily toward the required 350-subscriber threshold.

Twitch just made it a little easier to qualify for the Partner Plus program

New Scoring System for Partner Plus

Previously, streamers were required to maintain 350 paid subscriptions for three consecutive months to unlock the enhanced revenue share. Under the updated rules, Twitch is introducing “Partner Plus points” to calculate progress:

  • Tier 1 subscriptions: 1 point
  • Tier 2 subscriptions: 2 points
  • Tier 3 subscriptions: 6 points

By reaching a total of 350 points, creators can now qualify for the program. This change acknowledges the increased financial support from community members who opt for more expensive subscription tiers, which grant additional perks like unique chat badges and extra emotes.

Ongoing Creator Demands

Despite this adjustment, many creators remain dissatisfied with the program’s limitations. A significant point of contention is the exclusion of gifted subscriptions from the qualification count. Furthermore, free subscriptions provided through Amazon Prime memberships continue to be ineligible for Partner Plus progress.

Gifted subscriptions are a cornerstone of the Twitch ecosystem, often used during events like the upcoming “Subtember” to bolster community growth. By not counting these toward the 350-point requirement, Twitch maintains a strict definition of what constitutes “paid” support.

Program Details and Revenue Caps

For those who successfully meet the 350-point requirement, the 70/30 revenue share remains locked in for 12 months, providing stability even if subscriber numbers fluctuate below the threshold during that period. This favorable split applies to the first $100,000 earned on the platform; once a streamer exceeds this amount, the revenue share reverts to the standard 50/50 split.

As the Partner Plus program approaches its October 1 launch date, the industry is closely monitoring how many creators will successfully leverage the new point system to secure better earnings on the platform.
