Iconfactory revives classic Twitterrific easter eggs in app
The Iconfactory is bringing a slice of gaming nostalgia to iOS with the release of Ollie’s Arcade. The new app serves as a dedicated hub for retro-style mini-games, effectively breathing new life into interactive features that previously existed only as hidden easter eggs in the now-defunct Twitterrific client.
Following the forced closure of Twitterrific due to changes in Twitter’s API, the development team sought to preserve and expand upon the creative mechanics they had built over the years. By launching this standalone arcade, the studio allows users to transform their iPhones and iPads into portable retro gaming devices.

A Trio of Classic Gameplay
The launch collection features three distinct titles, drawing inspiration from early arcade cabinets and electric handheld games like Simon, Merlin, and Mattel Football:
- Ollie Soars: A revamped version of the 2016 Twitterrific easter egg, challenging players to navigate obstacles while collecting gems.
- Tranquility Touchdown: A polished space exploration game involving landing a pilot on the surface of six different planets.
- Snake: The developer’s own take on the classic arcade staple, requiring players to consume items without colliding with the tail.

Availability and Pricing
The Iconfactory has opted for a straightforward monetization model for the release. The app itself is free to download and includes Ollie Soars. Players who wish to access the remaining two titles can do so via a one-time purchase of $1.99 for each game. The experience is entirely free of advertisements and subscriptions, and it supports external game controllers and wireless keyboards for a more authentic retro feel.
