Bluesky Adds Long-Awaited Drafts Feature for Users

Bluesky is finally addressing a significant gap in its platform functionality by rolling out support for drafts. The social network, which has rapidly expanded its user base over the past year, is introducing the tool to streamline the posting process for its community.

Bluesky finally adds drafts

Users can manage their saved content by navigating to the post composer. The option to access saved work is located via a Drafts button positioned in the top-right corner of the interface, mirroring the workflow found on competing platforms like X and Threads.

Scaling Features Alongside Rapid Growth

The addition of draft functionality aligns with the company’s broader roadmap for the year. While Bluesky has prioritized major technical shifts—such as refining its algorithmic Discover feed and enhancing real-time engagement—the development team has signaled a renewed commitment to implementing core utility features that users expect from a modern social network.

Since its public launch in early 2024, the platform has seen substantial adoption, reaching more than 42 million users according to data from its developer API. Despite this growth, the service continues to work on parity with more established rivals regarding specific features, including:

  • Support for longer video uploads.
  • Implementation of private account settings.
  • Refinements to follow recommendations.

By prioritizing these foundational updates, Bluesky aims to provide a more robust experience for its growing audience while maintaining the momentum gained since its inception.
