Meta Launches Pocket: AI-Powered App for Custom Games

Meta has quietly entered the interactive gaming space with the release of Pocket. The platform allows users to generate custom, interactive experiences—referred to as “gizmos”—through simple AI prompts.

The application functions as a creative hub where users can build their own mini-apps and explore a scrollable feed of interactive content developed by others. This release follows Meta’s acquisition of the team behind the “vibe-coded” gaming platform Gizmo earlier this year.

Launch Details and Discovery

While Meta has not issued an official announcement regarding the app, data from the intelligence firm Appfigures indicates that Pocket was released on the App Store and Google Play on June 29, 2026. The discovery of the app gained public attention after reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi shared screenshots on social media.

Broader AI Integration Strategy

Pocket represents the latest step in Meta’s ongoing effort to integrate generative AI tools into its consumer ecosystem. The company has previously rolled out several AI-driven features across its platforms, including:

  • AI-generated image capabilities within the Meta AI app.
  • Video creation tools via the Vibes application.
  • AI-enhanced editing features integrated into the Edits creator app.

The original Gizmo platform, which shares a similar interface and functionality to Pocket, achieved 635,000 lifetime installs and maintained a 98% positive sentiment rating, according to Appfigures. Given the lack of a formal debut, it is expected that Pocket is currently in an early experimental phase as Meta evaluates user interaction with the platform.
