Nvidia Projects $1 Trillion in Blackwell and Rubin Sales

Jensen Huang just put Nvidia’s Blackwell and Vera Rubin sales projections into the $1 trillion stratosphere

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has significantly raised the company’s financial outlook for its latest AI hardware, projecting that demand for its Blackwell and Rubin chips will reach $1 trillion by 2027. The announcement came during his keynote address at the company’s annual GTC Conference in San Jose, California.

A Massive Surge in AI Chip Demand

Huang’s updated forecast signals a rapid acceleration in the AI hardware market. Only a year ago, the company estimated that demand for its Blackwell and upcoming Rubin chips would total approximately $500 billion through 2026.

“Now, I don’t know if you guys feel the same way, but $500 billion is an enormous amount of revenue,” Huang told the audience. “Well, I’m here to tell you that right now where I stand — a few short months after GTC DC, one year after last GTC — right here where I stand, I see through 2027, at least $1 trillion.”

The Evolution of Rubin Architecture

The Rubin architecture, initially unveiled in 2024, represents Nvidia’s latest push to maintain its dominance in high-performance computing. According to the company, the chip is designed to surpass the capabilities of the Blackwell predecessor by a significant margin.

Key performance metrics for the Rubin architecture include:

  • Model-training tasks: 3.5x faster than Blackwell.
  • Inference tasks: 5x faster than Blackwell.
  • Computational power: Reaching as high as 50 petaflops.

Nvidia officially commenced production of the Rubin chips in January and expects to scale manufacturing efforts during the second half of the year to meet the surging global demand for AI infrastructure.
