Roku Plans Streaming Bundles to Boost Profit in 2026

Roku is set to introduce streaming bundles in 2026, a strategic pivot aimed at capturing cost-conscious viewers as subscription prices across the industry continue to climb. The initiative, announced alongside the company’s fourth-quarter earnings report, follows the successful integration of premium services like HBO Max into the Roku ecosystem.
By curating bundles, the company hopes to replicate the growth seen with its current premium partnerships. This approach comes at a time when consumers are increasingly seeking value-driven alternatives to fragmented streaming costs.
Expanding the ‘Howdy’ Service
Beyond bundling, Roku is scaling its ad-free subscription service, “Howdy.” Initially launched last year, the $3-per-month offering is slated for a broader rollout. During CES last month, CEO Anthony Wood signaled an ambitious distribution strategy, noting, “We want to distribute it everywhere,” indicating that the service will soon move beyond the native Roku platform.
Operational Growth and Financial Turnaround
The company’s latest financial results demonstrate a significant recovery. Roku reported a net income of $80.5 million for Q4 2025, a sharp contrast to the $35.5 million loss recorded during the same period the previous year. Total revenue for the quarter hit $1.4 billion, marking a 16% year-over-year increase.
Key performance metrics from 2025 include:
- Total streaming time: 145.6 billion hours, a 15% increase over 2024.
- Household growth: Approaching the 100 million streaming households milestone.
- Financial outlook: Projections for 2026 include $5.5 billion in total net revenue and $2.4 billion in gross profit.
Reflecting on the company’s trajectory, CEO Anthony Wood highlighted the successful acceleration of their financial goals. “In 2023, our priority was to rightsize our cost structure and reach adjusted EBITDA breakeven in 2024, and we achieved that goal a full year ahead of schedule,” Wood stated during the investor call. He added that the company remains focused on sustaining double-digit platform revenue growth while maintaining profitability through 2026 and beyond.
