Apple Upgrades App Store Connect with 100+ Data Metrics

Apple has launched a major update to App Store Connect, the central hub where developers manage and monitor their applications. The company introduced more than 100 new metrics aimed at providing deeper visibility into monetization trends, subscription performance, and the effectiveness of in-app offers.

Apple overhauls its app developer platform with 100 new metrics, more tools

This official update shifts the landscape for app analytics. While developers previously relied on third-party intelligence platforms—such as Sensor Tower, Appfigures, or RevenueCat—to gauge performance, they now have access to data sourced directly from Apple’s own ecosystem. By relying on first-party information rather than third-party estimates, developers gain a more accurate baseline for their growth strategies.

Advanced Analytics and Cohort Insights

The new suite of tools allows for granular analysis of user behavior, enabling developers to segment data by specific criteria such as download source, acquisition date, and offer engagement. These capabilities include:

  • Exportable Subscription Reports: Data can now be accessed via API, allowing teams to analyze performance offline or integrate metrics into internal business systems.
  • Cohort Tracking: Developers can compare how different user groups engage with an app over time, facilitating A/B testing of regional expansions or feature rollouts.
  • Peer Benchmarking: New tools allow developers to compare their conversion rates and proceeds per download against industry peers.

To ensure user privacy, Apple stated that it utilizes aggregated cohort data and differential privacy techniques to protect individual user identities and specific developer performance metrics.

Improving Data Strategy

Managing the influx of new data is supported by enhanced interface capabilities, including the ability to apply up to seven simultaneous filters to any dataset. Additionally, Apple has released an updated App Store Analytics Guide to assist teams in building data-driven strategies.

The timing of this infrastructure upgrade is significant. As the industry debates the long-term viability of the traditional app model in an era of AI agents—with figures like Nothing’s CEO suggesting that apps may eventually be superseded by AI—Apple is doubling down on its ecosystem. Reports from Bloomberg indicate that Apple plans to unveil an AI-powered version of Siri at its June developer conference, designed specifically to execute tasks within third-party applications, further integrating AI into the App Store experience.
