ElevenLabs Launches ElevenMusic App to Rival Suno and Udio
ElevenLabs is aggressively expanding its footprint beyond voice synthesis with the official launch of ElevenMusic, an iOS application dedicated to AI-powered music creation. The move positions the company to compete directly against established generative audio platforms like Suno and Udio.

Following a soft launch period on the App Store, the tool became widely available on April 1. By diversifying into music production, ElevenLabs aims to insulate itself from the potential commoditization of its core voice models, signaling a strategic shift toward becoming a broader creative suite provider.
Features and Capabilities
The app allows users to generate songs through natural language prompts, with granular control over:
- Song duration
- Inclusion of lyrics
- Specific musical writing styles
Beyond creation, ElevenMusic functions similarly to mainstream streaming services. It features live radio stations, curated albums, and themed daily mixes categorized by moods such as Energy, Focus, Relax, Cosmic, Chill, and Late Night. The interface also includes discovery tools, allowing users to browse content from others and generate remixes via text commands.
Pricing and Limits
ElevenLabs has implemented a tiered model for the platform:
- Free Tier: Users can generate up to seven songs per day. Remixes count toward this daily limit.
- Pro Tier: Priced at $9.99 per month or $95.90 per year, this subscription expands capacity to 500 tracks monthly, provides over 500 GB of storage, and unlocks additional styles and moods.
Strategic Expansion
The launch comes shortly after ElevenLabs secured a $500 million Series C funding round in February, which valued the company at $11 billion. The startup has been rapidly building out its creative ecosystem, which now includes tools for video production, image generation, voice cloning, and sound effects.
The company’s commitment to audio is further evidenced by its recent partnerships with top music producers to release an album and its ongoing efforts to recruit a consumer music marketing lead. With existing consumer-facing products like the ElevenLabs creative tool and the ElevenReader platform—which already features a royalty program for authors—the company appears poised to integrate similar incentive structures to drive user engagement within its new music vertical.
