iPhone Hits Record Sales in Apple’s Best Q1 Ever

Apple has posted its most successful first quarter to date, anchored by a historic performance from its flagship smartphone. Financial results released by the company confirm that the iPhone generated $85 billion in revenue during the period, a significant jump from the $69 billion recorded in the same quarter last year.

The iPhone just had its best quarter ever

During the company’s earnings call on Thursday, CEO Tim Cook attributed the surge to widespread consumer interest. “iPhone had its best-ever quarter driven by unprecedented demand, with all-time records across every geographic segment,” Cook stated.

Growth Drivers: China and India

The record-breaking figures were bolstered by strong performances in key international markets, particularly China and India. In Greater China, revenue climbed to $25.5 billion, up from $18.5 billion a year prior. Cook noted that the region experienced its most successful iPhone quarter in history, aided by a double-digit increase in retail store traffic.

This regional success is largely tied to the reception of the iPhone 17, which debuted in September. According to Apple’s leadership, the latest model has outperformed its predecessor in consumer demand.

India also emerged as a critical growth engine for the company. During the December quarter, Apple achieved multiple milestones in the country:

  • Quarterly revenue records for iPhone, Mac, and iPad.
  • An all-time revenue record for the company’s services division.

Cook highlighted the strategic importance of the Indian market, describing it as the world’s second-largest smartphone market and the fourth-largest for PCs.

Global Financial Performance

Beyond the success of the iPhone, Apple saw revenue expansion across all major geographic regions, as detailed in the official earnings report:

  • Americas: Revenue grew to $58.5 billion, compared to $52.6 billion in the previous year.
  • Europe: Sales increased to $38.1 billion from $33.8 billion.

The combination of the iPhone 17’s popularity and expanded reach in emerging markets has solidified what the company describes as a “terrific quarter” across its entire hardware and services portfolio.
