Lovable Invests in Atech to Bring Vibe Coding to Hardware
Atech, a Danish hardware startup, has secured $800,000 in a pre-seed funding round to expand its mission of bringing “vibe coding” to the physical product development space. The investment was led by Lovable, the AI-powered app-building platform, with additional participation from the a16z Scout Fund, Sequoia Scout Fund, and Nordic Makers.

Democratizing Hardware Prototyping
The platform aims to remove the traditional barriers to entry for hardware design, which typically demand years of specialized engineering experience or significant capital for expert labor. By integrating AI into the prototyping workflow, Atech seeks to mirror the accessibility shifts recently seen in software development.
“Hardware, in a democratized world, has to be available to everyone,” said Gustav Hugod, Atech’s head of customer experience. According to Hugod, the company plans to utilize the newly raised capital to focus on three core areas:
- Research and development of new technologies
- Expansion of marketing initiatives
- Strategic hiring to support growth
How the Process Works
Atech’s workflow relies on a combination of physical starter kits and generative AI. Users purchase a specific hardware kit from the company’s website tailored to their project needs. Once the kit is in hand, they interact with an AI chatbot via a browser tab to describe their conceptual design.
The AI then generates the necessary code to help the user build a functional prototype. This approach has already attracted a diverse range of use cases, as noted by Hugod:
“Our user base spans from four-year-olds building cars to a hydrogen synthesis plant that needs precise voltage sensing.”
