CONTEUDO:

Netflix is rolling out a significant visual and functional overhaul for its kids’ profiles on television devices globally. The update focuses on streamlining the interface to help younger viewers find their favorite shows and movies with greater ease and speed.

Netflix launches redesigned profiles for kids

This development mirrors the redesign implemented for standard profiles earlier this May, which introduced AI-driven search capabilities and improved shortcuts. By bringing this interface to younger audiences, the platform aims to reduce the time spent browsing, allowing children to dive into content more quickly.

Key Interface Enhancements

The primary change centers on a simplified homepage layout, complemented by a new navigation bar located at the top of the screen. This bar includes a direct link to the “My Netflix” section, a centralized hub for content that children have previously watched, saved, or enjoyed. This feature is specifically designed to support the viewing habits of younger users, who frequently revisit the same movies and series.

Additional technical improvements integrated into the update include:

  • Real-time Recommendations: Content suggestions now refresh dynamically, ensuring the feed stays current based on recent activity.
  • Flexible UI: The new interface serves as a more adaptable canvas, supporting diverse creative formats such as interactive content.

What Remains the Same

While the navigation has been overhauled, Netflix confirmed that core features familiar to families remain intact. The Mystery Box suggestions, Character Themed Rows, and existing parental control settings continue to function as part of the kids’ experience.

Looking ahead, the interface update also aligns with broader platform changes. Netflix plans to integrate more interactive elements, such as live party games, podcasts, and real-time voting features. A notable upcoming addition is the show “Star Search,” which will utilize real-time voting capabilities, following successful testing on “Dinner Time Live with David Chang.”
