Hardware manufacturer Nothing has entered the competitive AI dictation market with the launch of its new tool, Essential Voice. The software aims to streamline mobile communication by converting spoken language into formatted, professional text directly within any application.

The tool functions by transcribing audio while automatically filtering out conversational filler words such as “um” and “ah.” Beyond simple transcription, the software offers a customization layer that allows users to create voice shortcuts for specific links, templates, and frequently used phrases. For example, a user can map their full mailing address to a simple command like “my address.”

Advanced Features and Language Support

Essential Voice arrives with robust language capabilities, supporting over 100 languages at launch. The company also confirmed plans to implement app-based custom styling in the near future, which will allow users to adjust the tone of AI-generated text based on the context, such as switching between professional work communications and casual messaging.

Availability and Device Rollout

The feature is currently accessible to users of the Phone (3). Nothing has outlined a specific deployment schedule for other devices:
