Pinterest cuts 15% of staff to accelerate AI development

Pinterest announced a significant workforce reduction on Tuesday, confirming plans to lay off less than 15% of its staff. The restructuring is part of a broader strategic shift aimed at optimizing office space and pivoting company resources toward artificial intelligence development.

According to a regulatory filing, the company expects the personnel changes to be finalized by the end of September. With a workforce of 4,666 full-time employees recorded at the close of 2024, these cuts are expected to impact approximately 700 workers.
