Spotify Debuts Weekly Audiobook Charts in US and UK
Spotify is expanding its data-driven discovery features with the introduction of dedicated Audiobook Charts. Starting now, users in the United States and the United Kingdom can track the most popular titles on the platform through weekly rankings that mirror the existing systems for music and podcasts.

How the Rankings Function
The new charts provide insights into trending content across the platform. According to the company, these lists are compiled using specific metrics related to:
- Overall listener engagement
- Consumption patterns by genre
- Weekly listening behavior
The charts are available to all users, regardless of subscription status. To view them, listeners must navigate to the Audiobooks hub by selecting the search icon in the app, tapping the “Audiobooks” tile, and scrolling to the “Dive deeper” section.
Strategic Growth in Audio
This launch represents the latest expansion of Spotify’s audiobook vertical, which was formally integrated into the service in 2022. The company has steadily introduced tools to bridge the gap between physical and digital reading, including the “Page Match” scanner and “Audiobook Recaps,” which provide brief summaries of previous progress.
Duncan Bruce, Spotify’s director of Audiobook Partnerships and Licensing, stated that the charts aim to replicate the growth seen in other media categories. “As we’ve proven with Music and Podcasts Charts, when content is easier to access, discover, and enjoy, the demand grows,” Bruce noted. He added that the feature intends to connect books more closely with real-time cultural trends.
Beyond Digital Streaming
Spotify’s interest in the literary sector extends beyond digital audio. Earlier this month, the platform confirmed a partnership with Bookshop.org, which will allow users in the U.S. and U.K. to purchase physical books directly through the Spotify interface. This dual approach signals a broader effort to position the app as a central hub for both audio consumption and physical book commerce.
