Meta Business AI Hits 10M Weekly Chats Amid Growth

Meta is seeing rapid adoption of its business-focused artificial intelligence tools, which now facilitate approximately 10 million conversations per week. The company disclosed this milestone during its first-quarter earnings call on Wednesday, marking a significant increase from the 1 million weekly interactions recorded at the start of the year.

Meta says its business AI now facilitates 10 million conversations a week

This surge in usage follows the global expansion of the business AI assistant beta program, which now covers the U.S., EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regions. While Meta currently provides these tools to small businesses at no cost to drive widespread adoption, CEO Mark Zuckerberg indicated that a shift in strategy is likely ahead.

“Business AIs today are currently free for most businesses on our messaging apps, but as we make more progress, we expect that we will also work towards establishing a longer-term monetization model,” Zuckerberg stated during the investor call.

Expanding AI Integration and Ad Tools

The company is actively embedding AI capabilities across its platform ecosystem. A key development is the integration of Muse Spark, the inaugural large language model developed by the Meta Superintelligence Labs division, which was established last year.

Beyond conversational tools, Meta’s generative AI features for advertisers are showing strong performance:

  • More than 8 million advertisers have utilized at least one generative AI creative tool.
  • Small and medium-sized businesses have shown particularly high adoption rates.
  • Advertisers employing video generation features reported a conversion rate increase of over 3% in testing.

To further support these efforts, the company is rolling out the open beta for Meta Ads AI Connectors this week, enabling advertisers to link their ad accounts directly to AI agents.

Financial Performance and Revenue Streams

Meta reported a strong financial quarter, with total revenue reaching $56.3 billion, a 33% increase compared to the previous year. Net profit rose to $26.8 billion, up from $16.6 billion in the same period last year.

Revenue across Meta’s suite of apps was bolstered by $885 million generated from paid messaging on WhatsApp and various app subscription services. The company continues to experiment with premium offerings, including the recent testing of WhatsApp Plus, which provides users with enhanced customization options like unique themes, custom icons, and specialized notification sounds.
