Epic Games Store Arrives on iPad for EU Users
iPad users located within the European Union can now access the Epic Games Store, marking a significant expansion for the storefront following regulatory changes. Epic Games confirmed the launch via its official social media channels, enabling the installation of the store on iPadOS shortly after Apple updated its platform to comply with regional mandates.
The rollout follows the European Commission’s designation of iPadOS as a “core platform service” under the Digital Markets Act (DMA). This regulatory framework requires designated “gatekeepers” to open their ecosystems to competition. Consequently, Apple was granted a six-month window to implement support for third-party app stores on the iPad, a requirement officially addressed with the recent release of iPadOS 18.
Gaming on iPad via Epic Games
Epic Games appears to have been prepared for the transition, launching the store on the tablet platform only one day after the software update became available. This move mirrors the company’s previous deployment of its store on iOS, which was also driven by DMA compliance requirements.
Users in the EU can install the store directly from the Epic Games website, provided their Apple account is registered within a member state. The current library for the iPad version includes:

- Rocket League Sideswipe
The titles are specifically optimized to support full-screen functionality on the iPad, offering a dedicated interface compared to standard mobile versions. While Epic Games previously stated its intention to collaborate with other developers to facilitate third-party distribution on Apple devices, those plans remain a work in progress, with no new additions to the store’s lineup announced at this stage.
