Samsung TVs to Integrate Google Photos Starting in 2026

Samsung smart TV owners will soon have a native way to view their personal media libraries without relying on casting or sideloading applications. The Korean manufacturer announced on Monday that it is integrating Google Photos directly into its television lineup, with a planned rollout scheduled for 2026.

Samsung plans to bring Google Photos to its TVs in 2026

Currently, users looking to display their Google-hosted images on a Samsung screen are required to use casting protocols or unofficial workarounds. This upcoming integration aims to streamline that experience, requiring only that users sign in to their Google accounts to access their cloud-based photos and videos directly on the display.

Exclusive Features and AI Integration

The initial launch will prioritize the platform’s “Memories” feature. Samsung has secured a six-month period of exclusivity for this specific functionality, allowing its TV users to view curated slideshows of their past photos and videos before the feature expands elsewhere.

Beyond simple viewing, the company intends to leverage artificial intelligence to enhance the television experience. Future updates for the app are expected to include:

  • Nano Banana-powered templates for organized display.
  • Advanced image generation and editing capabilities.
  • The “Remix” feature, which enables users to transform existing photos into different artistic styles.

Shimrit Ben-Yair, vice president of Google Photos and Google One, framed the partnership as a way to bridge the gap between mobile media and the living room. “We’re excited to bring Google Photos to Samsung TVs — helping people enjoy their favorite photos on a larger screen and reconnect with their memories in new ways,” Ben-Yair stated.
