Plaud Debuts NotePin S AI Recorder and Desktop App
Plaud is expanding its AI-powered productivity ecosystem just ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas. The hardware manufacturer has introduced the Plaud NotePin S, a wearable voice recorder, alongside a dedicated desktop application designed to streamline transcription for digital meetings.
Hardware Design and Capabilities
The NotePin S, priced at $179, is designed for portability. To accommodate various user preferences, the package includes a wristband, a magnetic pin, a clip, and a lanyard. Plaud has also integrated support for Apple Find My, allowing users to track the device if it is misplaced.
The device maintains the core technical specifications found in the company’s previous generation of hardware:
- Storage: 64GB of internal memory.
- Battery Life: Up to 20 hours of continuous recording.
- Audio Capture: Dual MEMS microphones with a 9.8-foot range.
- Transcription: Includes 300 minutes of free monthly transcription.
A notable addition is the physical button, which allows users to start or stop recordings instantly. Users can also tap the button during an active session to highlight specific moments, a feature shared with the newly released Plaud Note Pro.
Expanding into Desktop Meeting Software
While Plaud has historically focused on in-person meetings, the company is now positioning itself to compete directly with software-based meeting assistants like Fireflies, Fathom, and Granola. The new desktop client is designed to monitor for active meetings and automatically prompt the user to begin transcription.
The Mac-compatible application captures system audio to generate AI-structured notes. Furthermore, the company is bringing its multimodal input capabilities—which allow users to supplement audio transcripts with manual typed notes and images—into the desktop environment for a more comprehensive record-keeping experience.
With this launch, Plaud reaches its fourth distinct device, having moved over 1.5 million units to date. The NotePin S is specifically targeted at mobile professionals who require a compact, versatile tool for capturing information on the go.
