DoorDash Bans Driver for Using AI-Generated Delivery Photo
DoorDash has taken definitive action against a delivery driver accused of deploying artificial intelligence to fabricate proof of a completed order. The platform confirmed the permanent deactivation of the account following a viral report involving a customer in Austin, Texas.

The incident gained traction after Austin resident Byrne Hobart detailed his experience on the social media platform X. Hobart stated that a driver accepted his order, promptly marked the delivery as finished, and provided an AI-generated image depicting a DoorDash package placed at his front door.
Pattern of Fraud Identified
Following his initial post, Hobart shared additional context, noting that another user in Austin reported an identical experience involving a driver with the same display name. Hobart speculated on the mechanics of the deception, suggesting the individual may have utilized a hacked account on a jailbroken device to access historical delivery photos of his residence, which were then manipulated via AI.
