Deezer Launches ‘My Deezer Year 2025’ With Rom-Com Theme
Deezer has officially debuted its annual listening summary, “My Deezer Year 2025,” positioning itself ahead of major competitors like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. The feature provides subscribers with a comprehensive breakdown of their musical journey throughout the year, including top-played artists, tracks, genres, and favorite albums.
This year’s edition moves away from previous interactive formats—such as the 2024 “roasted or hyped” experience—to adopt a distinct “romantic comedy” aesthetic. The platform guides listeners through their data as if they were protagonists in a film, complete with narrative beats like a “meet cute” moment.

A Three-Episode Narrative
The experience is structured into three specific “episodes” designed to frame the user’s listening habits:
- Meet Cute: Focuses on the new artists and discoveries made throughout the year.
- Love Triangle: Highlights the top three artists the user engaged with most.
- Happily Ever After: Showcases favorite tracks and provides a personalized playlist for continued listening.
Expanding Access to Quizzes
Beyond the retrospective, Deezer is pushing social sharing by opening up its compatibility quiz feature. For the first time, individuals who do not use Deezer can create their own quizzes by inputting their favorite genres, a top artist, and three songs. This update appears aimed at increasing app downloads and driving viral engagement across social media platforms.

The “My Deezer Year 2025” experience is currently rolling out to all users on both iOS and Android. To provide context on the scale of user activity, the company noted that the average global user streamed approximately 122.8 hours of music, engaged with over 691 songs from 402 different artists, and explored 357 new tracks during the year.
For those interested in the full interactive retrospective, it can be accessed directly within the mobile application. More information regarding the release can be found on the official Deezer Newsroom.
