Netflix Launches TV Gaming With New Party Titles
Netflix is officially expanding its gaming footprint to the living room. Subscribers can now access a selection of titles directly through the Netflix app on smart TVs, marking a significant shift in the streaming giant’s strategy to move beyond mobile-only experiences.

This rollout follows months of speculation and development. While rumors of a television-based gaming expansion surfaced in early 2023, the company initially focused on infrastructure, including the release of a dedicated game controller app for iOS devices. Users can now navigate to the Games tab within the Netflix TV interface to select a title, using their smartphone as the primary input device.
New Party-Focused Game Library
To celebrate the launch, the platform introduced five new titles specifically designed for group play. This pivot toward “party games” suggests an effort to increase social engagement among subscribers:
- Boggle Party: A fast-paced word search challenge supporting up to eight players.
- LEGO Party!: A competitive experience featuring various minigames for four players.
- Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends: A social deduction game centered on identifying the player who is out of the loop.
- Pictionary: Game Night: A digital adaptation of the classic drawing and guessing game.
- Tetris Time Warp: A competitive take on the iconic puzzle game.
By prioritizing multiplayer formats, Netflix aims to keep users within its ecosystem even when they are not actively watching series or films. This strategy aligns with recent insights into the company’s broader gaming roadmap, which now emphasizes four distinct categories, including these new social titles.
The company confirmed that these games are currently available on select smart TV models in specific regions. Netflix intends to broaden the availability of these titles over time as it continues to refine its holiday gaming collection and long-term entertainment strategy.
