Pinterest Integrates Amazon Storefronts for Creators
Pinterest is deepening its alliance with Amazon, launching a new integration that allows creators to link their Amazon Storefronts directly to their Pinterest profiles. Announced on Wednesday, the tool is designed to simplify affiliate marketing for influencers while enhancing the platform’s shopping capabilities.
By connecting their Amazon accounts, creators can now automate the affiliate linking process. Whenever a creator tags an eligible product on the platform, their unique affiliate link is applied automatically, streamlining the path for followers to purchase recommended items.

Strategic Shift Toward Human Content
This new functionality serves a dual purpose for Pinterest. While it aims to court creators who traditionally favor competitors like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, it also functions as a strategic pivot to address user dissatisfaction regarding the influx of AI-generated content on the site.
By empowering human creators to showcase their curated storefronts directly on their profiles, Pinterest hopes to reclaim its identity as a primary destination for genuine shopping inspiration. The platform reports that over half of its user base engages with the site specifically for shopping, with more than 80 billion searches conducted monthly.

A Growing Partnership
The collaboration strengthens a commercial relationship that began in 2023 with a multi-year advertising agreement, which established Amazon as the first third-party ad partner on Pinterest. Following that deal, Pinterest entered a similar arrangement with Google in 2024 to bolster revenue.
While the platform has struggled to fully monetize its inspiration-focused model, the current integration with Amazon Storefronts is expected to expand. Pinterest confirmed that it plans to add support for other partner storefronts in the near future.
