CONTEUDO:

Pinterest is rolling out a new tool dubbed “Promote a Pin,” designed to help creators and businesses expand their content’s reach through a simplified interface. The feature aims to remove the technical hurdles typically associated with digital advertising, allowing users to increase visibility in just a few steps.

Pinterest launches a new feature to promote a Pin

The company plans to launch this functionality for users across the United States in the coming weeks, with a broader international rollout scheduled for a later date. The tool is being positioned as a solution for both individuals and small business owners who want to amplify their presence without building intricate ad campaigns from scratch.

Targeting and Campaign Control

By leveraging the platform’s “Taste Graph”—a system trained on billions of images—the tool identifies users most likely to engage with specific content. Advertisers maintain control over their campaigns by defining specific parameters, including:

  • Daily budget allocations
  • Campaign duration
  • Target audience demographics

The interface provides real-time estimates of potential results based on these settings, offering a streamlined experience for those new to digital marketing. For example, a fashion creator could use the feature to boost specific wardrobe guides, ensuring their content reaches a relevant audience.

Market Context and Strategic Growth

Pinterest currently reports 619 million active monthly users who generate over 80 billion searches, a figure the company notes exceeds the 75 billion monthly searches seen on ChatGPT. With more than half of these queries being commercial in nature, the platform sees significant potential for “Promote a Pin” to drive meaningful engagement.

“From entrepreneurs to global brands, we’re making it easier for businesses of every size to reach the right audiences, connect with new customers, and grow on Pinterest,” said Lee Brown, the company’s chief business officer. “Promote a Pin is a significant step in our work to remove barriers and deliver simple, powerful tools that unlock greater opportunity and long-term growth.”

The launch arrives during a period of transition for the company. After a challenging Q4 2025 where financial results missed analyst expectations and a 15% workforce reduction occurred in January, Pinterest is pivoting resources toward AI-driven development. This shift has attracted attention from activist investor Elliott, which recently announced a $1 billion investment in the firm, specifically betting on its visual AI capabilities.

In addition to the new promotion tool, the company is testing a “Performance+ Catalog Sales” campaign. This feature is intended to allow merchants to market products directly through the Pinterest Shopify app or the platform’s native Ads manager.
