TikTok Launches Pro Events App for FIFA World Cup
TikTok is expanding its footprint beyond its primary social platform with the debut of TikTok Pro Events, a standalone application currently available in the United States. The new tool is designed to aggregate content and fan interaction around major cultural milestones, starting with the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
The company confirmed the launch on Wednesday, positioning the app as a dedicated space for users to explore curated creator feeds, follow trending videos, and connect with other fans. The platform is now live for download on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

Incentivizing Fan Participation
To drive adoption, TikTok has implemented a reward system for users aged 18 and older. By completing specific in-app tasks, participants can earn “Stars.” These activities include:
- Searching for trending event-related hashtags.
- Engaging with the FIFA World Cup hub.
- Sharing content within the application.
Accumulated Stars can be exchanged for various rewards, such as official FIFA World Cup merchandise, TikTok Shop coupons, or the ability to direct charitable contributions to Feeding America.
Strategic Focus on Transactions
The move represents a shift in TikTok’s business model. By segregating high-interest events into a specialized app, the company aims to capture a more targeted audience, providing advertisers and creators with increased visibility. This strategy creates new revenue channels through partnerships, sponsorships, and direct marketing.
This initiative follows the recent launch of TikTok GO, which allows users to book travel experiences and hotels directly within the main app. Both projects highlight TikTok’s transition from a discovery-based entertainment platform to a transactional ecosystem.
For those who prefer to remain in the main TikTok application, the company maintains its FIFA World Cup 2026 hubs, powered by TikTok GamePlan. These hubs provide a centralized location for sports teams and broadcasters to reach fans, accessible by searching “FIFA World Cup” in the main TikTok interface.
