X Revamps Creator Subscriptions With New Exclusive Tools

X is overhauling its Creator Subscriptions program, introducing a suite of features aimed at keeping influencers and content creators within its ecosystem. The updates, announced Thursday, focus on simplifying monetization and providing creators with more direct ways to engage their most dedicated followers.

Among the primary additions are “exclusive threads.” This feature allows creators to monetize specific conversations directly on the platform, eliminating the need to redirect audiences to external newsletters or third-party websites. These subscriber-only posts will now appear integrated into the creator’s main profile feed rather than being siloed in a separate tab, increasing visibility for paid content.

New tools for creator management

To support these changes, X has introduced several administrative improvements:

  • New Dashboard: Creators can now track earnings and subscriber insights in one centralized location.
  • Shareable Cards: A new promotional tool allows creators to market their content more effectively across the platform.
  • Streamlined Onboarding: The setup process for subscriptions has been reduced to just two steps, with faster application review times.
  • Refreshed Paywall: A redesigned interface helps creators better highlight the specific value and benefits of their subscription tiers.

“We are doubling down on creators, the platform’s most influential experts, thought leaders, and voices, by investing in tools that enable sustainable incomes and deeper connections with their audiences,” said Allegra Jacchia, who leads the Creators Product team at X.

Expanding monetization transparency

Alongside subscription updates, X has formally announced the rollout of a “Paid partnership” label. This feature provides a native way for creators to disclose sponsored content, replacing the need for manual hashtags. The label is displayed directly under the post and can be applied retroactively if a creator fails to include it during the initial publication.

The platform continues to lean into its Creator Revenue Sharing program, which has distributed over $45 million to date, according to data from the platform’s integrated AI assistant, Grok. For 2026, the company reports that the available revenue pool has more than doubled, driven by the growth of X Premium subscriptions. Despite these investments in the creator economy, advertising remains the primary source of revenue for the company.
