Adobe Reverses Animate Shutdown After Customer Uproar

Adobe has abandoned plans to discontinue its 2D animation software, Adobe Animate, following a wave of intense public outcry. The company confirmed on Wednesday that it will no longer sunset the product, opting instead to transition the application into “maintenance mode.”

The reversal comes just days after Adobe initially announced that it would stop supporting the software on March 1, 2026.
