Riverside Adds AI-Powered Newsletters to Podcast Platform

CONTEUDO:

The podcast and video recording platform Riverside is expanding its ecosystem by introducing integrated newsletter publishing. Rather than competing directly with dedicated platforms like Substack or Beehiiv, the company is leveraging its existing user base by offering tools to repurpose spoken content into written formats.

The core of this feature is an AI-driven system designed to transcribe and distill recorded podcasts or videos into newsletter-ready drafts. Users retain the flexibility to compose newsletters from scratch or utilize the automated conversion functionality directly within the Riverside application.

Bridging the gap between audio and text

Nadav Keyson, co-founder and CEO of Riverside, explained that the initiative addresses the friction creators face when pivoting between different content formats. “Substack and Beehiiv start you at a blank page. But our creators and business customers are already producing rich, information-dense spoken content on Riverside,” Keyson noted.

He added that for most creators, verbalizing ideas is more natural than drafting text from scratch. By integrating this workflow, the platform aims to reduce the overhead of content repurposing.

Additional Suite Updates

Beyond the newsletter integration, Riverside is rolling out several enhancements to its recording infrastructure and AI toolset:

  • Multi-camera support: Expanded capabilities for complex recording setups.
  • Remote collaboration: New features allowing for the seamless addition of remote guests.
  • AI Video Enhancement: A new model specifically trained on conversational video podcasts to improve sharpness, depth, and lighting.
  • Automated Drafting: AI assistance that generates initial cuts of recordings and creates social media hooks.

The move comes as the digital publishing market sees significant convergence. While Riverside enters the newsletter space, others are moving in the opposite direction; Substack introduced a recording studio earlier this year, and Beehiiv has begun incorporating podcasting features into its platform. Riverside, which has secured over $60 million in total funding, continues to refine its tools as it competes for a larger share of the creator economy.
